EMMA OLIVIER

After completing both her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and Master of Laws (LLM – cum laude) degrees in South Africa, Emma was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2014. After several years working in private practice, Emma took up the position of legal researcher in the Office of the Chief Justice of South Africa, where she assisted Judges of the High Court, KwaZulu-Natal Division.
Having immigrated to Australia in 2023, Emma was admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Western Australia in December 2024. After a brief period away from the legal world, Emma returned to practice, joining the team at Clairs Keeley Lawyers in February 2026.
During her university years, Emma was drawn to the area of Family Law, particularly child related matters, focusing on the best interests of children, which was one of the major themes of her Master’s dissertation. Emma was also selected as one of the team members to represent her university and South Africa in the ICRC International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition held in Tanzania. Following this, Emma undertook a three-month internship with the United Nations Environmental Programme in Nairobi, Kenya.
Emma is a member of the International Golden Key Society, the Law Society of Western Australia, and the Family Law Practitioners Association of Western Australia (“FLPA”) . She remains a member of the Legal Practice Council of South Africa (non-practicing attorneys roll).
